Annual Teaching and Learning Conference

The Annual Teaching and Learning Conference is an annual professional learning opportunity. Colleagues design their bespoke conference programme, selecting from over 40 workshops. The workshop offer is curated to meet individual development needs. Further information about the sessions, and details on how to select the available workshops will be circulated closer to the conference date.

Who is it for?

All staff teaching in an educational setting

The aims of the conference are to:

Deepen staff understanding of the shared vision and values of education

Provide exposure to relevant scholarship and research; highlighting effective practice

Empower colleagues

Creative Teacher Programme (CTP)

Overview

A nationwide, certified course for teachers who want to advance their teaching practice and deliver consistently good lessons. The CTP is a highly effective programme designed by experienced and successful school leaders. It is delivered by expert teachers and SLEs from ATLAS Teaching School Alliance and includes collaborative workshops, one-to-one coaching and formative lesson observations.

Who is it for?

All teachers who want to develop their practice

Teachers who want to have a reminder of effective pedagogy

Teachers who want to be more reflective and creative in their craft

Programme Outcomes:

The CTP supports teachers to provide their students with the best possible learning experience by offering:

Coaching to deepen teachers’ understanding of outstanding classroom practice

Structured opportunities to reflect on teaching approaches and their impact

Facilitated practice, observation of effective practitioners

Formative feedback from lesson observations

Improved confidence to become resilient, reflective and confident practitioners

Dates:

Outstanding Teacher Programme (OTP)

A nationwide, certificated course for teachers to enable them to become consistently and sustainably outstanding. The OTP gives good and outstanding teachers a set of high level skills and strategies that enable them to become consistently and sustainably outstanding. A highly effectively programme, the OTP is designed by experienced school leaders and delivered by expert teachers and SLEs from ATLAS Teaching School Alliance.

Who is it for?

Applicants that can demonstrate

• Excellence in their own teaching as evidenced in attainment and progress data, lesson observations and work scrutinies

• An ability to reflect on their practice, including using student feedback to evaluate the impact of their teaching

• A commitment to their Professional Development and the development of others in their school

Programme Outcomes:

As a result of completing the course, teachers will be able to:

• Demonstrate higher level understanding of teaching and improve learning for their pupils

• Coach colleagues in their own school and in other schools to raise performance and attainment

• Create a proactive school culture where the quality of teaching and learning is observed, discussed, challenged and enhanced

• Reflect on opportunities for further leadership and career progression and gain increased job satisfaction

Secondary Newly Qualified Teacher Programme

Overview

The NQT programme continues to be matched to the Teachers’ Standards and has been revised for 2019-20 so that it is informed by the DfES’s Early Career Framework – the new package of structured training and support for early career teachers being rolled out from 2020. In this way the programme will both support the NQTs in developing the required evidence, knowledge and skills to succeed in their induction year and prepare them for longer term sustained development.

Who is it for?

• Newly qualified teachers needing to complete their induction year.

Programme Outcomes:

• Structured reflect To promote good progress

• Demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge

• To manage behaviour effectively

Early Career Stage Teacher Programme

Overview

This programme is mapped to the proposed Early Career Framework. It provides additional support, exposure to ‘must know’ educational research to further develop practice and continues the development of early career stage teachers via one to one coaching.

Who is it for?

Any recently qualified teacher (e.g. NQT + 1, NQT+ 2) wanting additional development and willing to actively participate in a community of reflective practitioners.

Programme Outcomes:

• Improved pedagogy and quality of student learning experiences

• Improve retention of early years teachers

• Early tracking and support of potential leaders

• Greater understanding of effective practice via a peer network
